Brochure site or e-commerce: how to choose
The two formats serve different commercial goals. Here is the decision grid we use with clients before writing a single line of code.

In short
The choice does not depend on company size but on how the sale closes. A brochure site fits when the transaction ends with a human exchange: a quote, an appointment, a tender, a workshop visit. Its role is to qualify and reassure. An e-commerce site fits when the customer can decide alone, compare, pay and receive without intervention. That assumes an up-to-date catalogue, reliable logistics and organised after-sales support. Between the two lies a grey area: a browsable catalogue without online payment, useful for companies whose prices vary by customer. Starting with the simpler format and extending it later is almost always more profitable than the reverse.

5 sectionsThe real question is not technical
We are often asked "brochure or e-commerce?" as if it were a tool choice. It is a business-model choice. The right question is: can your customer decide alone?
If they need a quote, advice, a visit or a negotiation, the sale closes off-site. The site then filters, educates and triggers contact.
When a brochure site is right
- Pricing depends on the project, the volume or the customer.
- The decision cycle exceeds a few days.
- You sell a service, not a stocked item.
- Your main issue is credibility and qualified demand.
Investment should go into content, proof and the qualification form, not a checkout that will never be used.
When e-commerce is required
- Your references are stable and prices public.
- You hold stock, or a reliable supply chain.
- You can handle returns, complaints and deliveries.
A store is not a catalogue with a button; it is a logistics operation and a customer service. We decline to launch a shop until both are ready, because failure will not come from the code. Scope details sit in our e-commerce offer.
The grey area: catalogue without payment
Many Tunisian manufacturers and wholesalers are in this position. The answer is a rich, well-indexed catalogue with a per-product price request. You get e-commerce visibility without the operational load.
Our default recommendation
Start with the format that serves this year's objective, on a foundation that allows the other later. A Next.js base allows adding a store without a rebuild. To place the investment, see our offers.
