STPSCOM: an online store for fire detection and gate automation

STPSCOM, based in Sfax, sells fire safety and automation equipment online: control panels, detectors, manual call points and sounders for fire detection; motors for swing gates, sliding gates, garage doors and roller shutters; as well as parking barriers, dock levellers and motors for transom windows. The company presents itself as the exclusive importer of the equipment in its store and as “the direct link with manufacturers”. Its Brands page features Finsecur for fire detection and Proteco for gate automation. It advertises delivery anywhere in Tunisia within 48 to 72 hours, with cash or cheque payment on delivery.

Fire detection and gate automation equipment is chosen on technical criteria: addressable or conventional system, type of gate, weight of the leaf or door to be motorised. A buyer has to find the right reference in a range of more than a hundred products, see its price and order without travelling to Sfax. The store also had to present two very different ranges clearly, fire safety on one side and automation on the other, and reassure buyers about delivery and payment.

We designed and built the online store on PrestaShop:

• the catalogue and product pages, with prices in dinars, add to cart, wishlist and customer account;
• five product families: fire detection (addressable and conventional systems, control panels, CMSI fire safety control units, detectors, manual call points, sounders, repeater panels, power supplies), gate automation (swing gates, sliding gates, garage doors, roller shutters, accessories), parking barriers, dock levellers and transom window motors;
• keyword search in the header and filters by category, availability, brand and price, with sorting by price, name or sales;
• a Brands page introducing Finsecur and Proteco and linking to their products;
• a showcase home page: slider, banners for the Mover, Aster and Libra kits, selections for each product range, brand logos and newsletter sign-up;
• the practical pages: about us, how to buy, delivery terms, privacy and contact, with a reminder of the 48 to 72 hour delivery and payment on delivery;
• the mobile version, with a fixed bar at the bottom of the screen for the home page, wishlist and cart.

We also produced a custom presentation video (2 min 16): high-speed doors, dock levellers and loading bays, with aerial views of equipped warehouses.
